What happens when a Persian cat, a marketing strategist, a nonprofit mission, and AI all end up in the same business story?

You get Cyrus Meow Great.

On this episode of Legacy Launchers, I sat down with Sassan Darian, founder of Whole Funnel AI and the human behind Cyrus, a Persian therapy cat with more than 650,000 followers on Facebook and a rapidly growing audience across social media.

Yes, a cat has a bigger following than most founders.

But this story is not really about going viral.

It is about how attention becomes trust, how trust becomes community, and how community can be turned into something meaningful.

It Started With a Birthday Gift

Cyrus was never supposed to become an internet celebrity.

Sassan originally got him as a birthday gift for his daughter. The name came from Cyrus the Great, the ancient Persian ruler whose legacy still carries deep cultural significance in Persian history.

What happened next was unexpected.

As Cyrus grew up, Sassan noticed that he had an unusually calm temperament. He adapted to new environments, tolerated unfamiliar sounds, went outside, visited public places, and seemed comfortable doing things most cats would immediately file under “absolutely not.”

Cyrus even learned to sit on a baby swing.

At that point, Sassan began to realize he might have something special.

How a Cat Becomes a Therapy Cat

Anyone who has ever lived with a cat knows that cats are not exactly famous for following instructions.

Cyrus was different.

Sassan describes his personality as a combination of nature and nurture. Cyrus had the temperament, but Sassan also kept exposing him to new environments and experiences.

Over time, Cyrus became comfortable going to events, sitting on Sassan’s shoulder, being around groups of people, and interacting calmly in public.

That eventually led to therapy work.

Cyrus became involved with Pet Partners, opening opportunities to bring him into more structured therapeutic environments, including hospitals and community settings.

The goal became bigger than social media.

The cute videos were only the beginning.

From Cute Content to 650,000 Followers

Sassan has a marketing background, so the growth of Cyrus’s audience was not entirely accidental.

One of the most interesting parts of our conversation was his willingness to say something a lot of creators avoid:

Great content is not always enough.

Social media is crowded. Almost everyone is creating something now.

Sassan believes growth comes from a combination of strong organic content and paid distribution.

Cyrus was already unique. He went to beaches, stores, events, and public spaces. He had personality.

But Sassan understood that even the best content still needs to be seen.

That is a lesson every business owner should pay attention to.

You can have the best product, best story, best service, or cutest Persian cat in the world.

If nobody knows you exist, it does not matter.

The Real Marketing Lesson Behind Cyrus

The biggest lesson from Cyrus is not “get a cat.”

It is this:

Build something distinctive, then build a system to distribute it.

Sassan had three things working together:

  • A memorable story
  • Consistent content
  • A marketing system behind it

That combination helped turn Cyrus from a family pet into a recognizable brand with hundreds of thousands of followers.

And then Sassan did something even more important.

He attached the attention to a mission.

Instead of stopping at views and likes, Cyrus became connected to charitable work, therapy visits, and community impact.

That is where the story becomes much more interesting than social media growth.

Why Sassan Built Whole Funnel AI

Sassan’s marketing background also led him into artificial intelligence.

His company, Whole Funnel AI, focuses on something most business owners struggle with:

Understanding what is actually happening between the ad and the sale.

Businesses often have data scattered everywhere.

Google Ads has one set of numbers.

Meta has another.

Google Analytics shows website behavior.

The CRM holds leads.

Sales live somewhere else.

And then everyone sits in a meeting asking:

“Why aren’t we getting more customers?”

Sassan wanted to connect those pieces.

His goal with Whole Funnel AI is to combine data across platforms so businesses can identify where customers are dropping out, where advertising money is being wasted, and what needs to be improved.

In other words:

Stop guessing.

Look at the funnel.

AI Should Help You Get Out of the Small Stuff

One of the strongest ideas from our conversation was how Sassan uses AI personally.

He talked about how automation helps him manage the many moving parts of his nonprofit, marketing work, and startup.

His view is not that AI should replace thinking.

It should help reduce friction.

AI can handle repetitive tasks, organize information, connect systems, and make it easier to execute ideas that might otherwise sit unfinished.

That matters because a lot of entrepreneurs are not suffering from a lack of ideas.

They are suffering from too many tasks.

AI can give you leverage.

But only if you know what you are trying to accomplish.

AI Still Needs a Human Who Knows What They Are Doing

Sassan made an important distinction during our conversation.

AI is powerful, but you still need expertise.

If you do not understand the process you are automating, you can simply automate a bad process faster.

That is especially important when dealing with advertising, customer data, engineering systems, security, and business operations.

His philosophy is to keep learning, stay skeptical, and build guardrails around the technology.

Because AI changes quickly.

The system that works today may be outdated six months from now.

Possibly six weeks from now.

Possibly by the time you finish reading this article.

The Bigger Lesson: Attention Is Only the Beginning

Cyrus Meow Great started as a birthday gift.

Then he became content.

Then he became a brand.

Then he became a community.

And now he is becoming a vehicle for therapy and charitable impact.

That progression is worth paying attention to.

A lot of businesses are obsessed with followers.

But followers are not the final goal.

The better question is:

What are you doing with the attention once you have it?

Sassan turned an unusual cat into a platform.

Then he gave the platform a purpose.

That is the part worth copying.

Because whether you have 650 followers or 650,000, the real opportunity is the same:

Build trust.

Serve people.

And turn attention into something that matters.
